The Archbishop has issued guidelines by which the re-opening of churches to public Masses can take place in the Archdiocese of Vancouver. At the Cathedral we are currently working on a plan to open for public Masses. In all likelihood we will open our doors for public Masses sometime at the beginning of June. Q: When will the Cathedral open for Mass with Congregations?

A: The current guidelines of the Archdiocese of Vancouver based on the recommendations of health authorities, state that a parish may offer Mass for up to 50 in the congregation if proper social distancing and sanitizing measures are in place. In our Eucharistic celebrations, this also involves being able to offer Communion to those gathered in a safe way. The Cathedral is currently taking measures to ensure all these measures are in place before we open for congregational participation. This could happen in June. The exact date will be posted on the Cathedral website when available.

Q: When the Cathedral opens for small congregations will Masses be available at the usual times?

A: To ensure that proper cleaning and sanitizing takes places, initially only one or two Masses will be open to a congregation of 50. For the safety of parishioners, the Archbishop of Vancouver has decreed that the faithful are dispensed from the obligation of attending Sunday Mass during this initial reopening phase.

Q: When are the Live-Stream Masses and how do I tune into it?

A: The Cathedral live-streams Sunday Masses at 8 am, 11 am, 6:30 pm (Spanish) and 8 pm and weekday Masses at 7:15 am, 12:10 pm and 5:10 pm. Please go to our live-stream page.
